Celebrating the arrival
of a new child (or children) into your family
and circle of friends should be a happy and
special occasion. Many parents choose to mark it
by having a Humanist Naming Ceremony. Elements
of the ceremony often include:
- the
formal naming of the child or children
- commitments
to the child or children from parents &
other relatives, such as siblings and
grandparents
- commitments
from adults taking the roles of Guideparent or
Supporting Adult, or however to be called -
fulfilling the equivalent role to godparents
- readings
- symbolic
gestures such as the lighting candles,
planting a tree or releasing balloons
As no two
ceremonies or families are the same, I will
help you to ensure that your ceremony is
exactly how you want it to be – a happy and
truly memorable occasion.
